Voltvet Cafe – Denpasar, Bali

When I arrived in Bali I quickly hit the streets to have a look around. I found this little cafe by accident, I wasn’t sure if they would serve food as well and I was hungry so I hesitated. The waitress opened the door as she saw me standing in front of it somewhat undecided and asked if I liked coffee. Hmm… YES! „We are having a coffee tasting right now and it is for free!“ YES YES YES, I’m in!

As it turned out, the owner of the shop, Askari is very passionate about coffee and he tried out different brewing techniques, varying the brewing temperature, the size of the coffee grain, the brewing duration and overall method. Even the water gets filtered and re mineralised so the taste of the coffee is pure. WHERE DO YOU GET THAT?!? I have never seen someone being so passionate about coffee! I tasted a Chemex brew coffee, pour over coffee, Cappuccino, Espresso… all were GREAT!

I couldn’t resist and ordered a dessert also – yummy!

I had a long talk with Askari and described what kind of coffee I like and why and he promised me he would make me a cappuccino the way I wanted it tomorrow morning for breakfast… if I came 😉 So next morning I was on a mission! All I can say is, if you come to Bali and you stay in Denpasar, look for Voltvet Cafe in Veteran Street, it really is amazing and THE place to go if you love coffee.

Here are some impressions of this little cafe I liked so much that I devoted an entire post to it.
